The Atlanta Braves anticipate starting pitcher Brandon Beachy will be ready for spring training in 2014, general manager Frank Wren told David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Brandon Beachy injury update: Braves RHP expected to be ready for spring training
Beachy only made five starts in 2013 after undergoing Tommy John surgery last season.

Beachy underwent Tommy John surgery in June of 2012. He made his return 13 months later, but only made five starts for the Braves before being shut down with discomfort in his throwing elbow. The starter underwent another surgery in late September to help clear out the elbow and expedite the healing process.
The right-hander had a strong rookie campaign for the Braves in 2011, going 7-3 with a 3.68 ERA and 169 strikeouts over 141 2/3 innings. Beachy posted a 2.00 ERA in his first 13 starts of 2012 before being shut down.
The Braves will enter 2014 with enviable starting depth. Kris Medlen, Mike Minor, Alex Wood and Julio Teheran will also be under team control. Atlanta has a number of pitching prospects, including David Hale and J.R. Graham, that could compete for innings next season. Tim Hudson has indicated that he would like to return next year, with the Braves showing mutual interest.
