NLCS Game 3, Cardinals vs. Dodgers score update: St. Louis, Los Angeles scoreless through 2
Hyun-jin Ryu hasn’t been good early in games, but that hasn’t been an issue thus far in Game 3.
Ryu's strong start is significant because of his tendency to struggle his first time through opposing lineups this season. The 26-year-old rookie posted a combined 5.10 ERA in the first inning of his starts and he wasn't much better in his lone postseason outing before tonight, surrendering a pair of runs to the Atlanta Braves in the first inning on Oct. 6.
Ryu has has given up a walk and fanned two batters in two hitless innings.
Adam Wainwright gave up a broken-bat single to Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who was a game-time decision after a CT scan revealed a fractured rib earlier on Monday. Ramirez's hit didn't result in any damage against Wainwright, who has notched a pair of strikeouts.
