MLB announces World Series start times

Six of the seven games are scheduled for a 8:07 p.m. ET start.

Major League Baseball announced the first pitch times for the World Series on Friday by sending out a Tweet with the schedule attached:

Six of the seven games are scheduled to start at 8:07 p.m. ET, with the lone exception coming on Sunday, Oct. 27, when first pitch is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET.

The locations of the games are to be determined. The St. Louis Cardinals currently lead the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 in the NLCS, while the Boston Red Sox hold a 3-2 advantage over the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS.

The start times should easily work for three of the four remaining teams, but the Dodgers may not appreciate the early start. If Los Angeles completes the comeback against the St. Louis, they will host three games that start just after 5 p.m. local time. With traffic around Los Angeles notoriously difficult to navigate, there may be a number of late arriving Dodgers fans if they host World Series games.

The Red Sox or the Tigers will have home-field advantage in the World Series thanks to the AL’s 3-0 victory in the All-Star game over the NL.
