The St. Louis Cardinals do not believe that first baseman Allen Craig badly aggravated his foot injury in Saturday night's wacky conclusion, reports Tom Ackerman of KMOX Radio.

Craig scored the game-winning run, but had to be helped off the field following the game. The final play saw him do heavy running and put a lot of stress on his foot as he tripped over Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks and slid into home plate, scoring on called obstruction.
“I feel OK, a little sore,” Craig said after the game. “Just trying to get home, I didn’t have much in the tank, to be honest with you. That’s probably the fastest I’ve tried to run in the past two months.”
He missed most of September and all of the Division Series and League Championship Series due to a Lisfranc injury in his foot. Such a malady makes it difficult for a player to run well. He was able to return for the World Series, but can only act as a designated hitter and pinch hitter, not as a first baseman.
Craig has been a boon to the Cardinals’ offense against the Red Sox. He has seen time in all three games and has collected three hits and a walk in nine at-bats.
