Yadier Molina smacked an offering from John Lackey, and Bogaerts made a tough play down the line. The rookie made a poor throw, missing Mike Napoli at first base:
Napoli could have helped Bogaerts by coming off the bag earlier. Molina advanced to second on the play, but Lackey ended up stranding the catcher at third, preserving the Red Sox 4-2 lead.
