Baseball America unveiled their All-Rookie team and their Rookie of the Year award, with Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez snagging the individual award.
Baseball America announces All-Rookie team, Rookie of the Year
Jose Fernandez earned the BA Rookie of the Year award, leading a deep class of pitchers.


Fernandez led a deep class of rookie pitchers, going 12-6 with a 2.19 ERA over 28 starts. The right-hander fanned 187 batters over 172 2/3 innings pitched while posting an 0.98 WHIP.
Gerrit Cole, Shelby Miller, Hyun-Jin Ryu, and Julio Teheran join Fernandez to round out the rookie starting rotation, with Trevor Rosenthal snagging the reliever spot. Matt Eddy of Baseball America noted that a number of standout rookie pitchers didn't even crack the list, including Tony Cingrani, Chris Archer, Sonny Gray and Zack Wheeler.
The rookie starting lineup also favors the senior circuit, led by the enigmatic Yasiel Puig. The BA rookie starting lineup is listed below:

2B - Jedd Gyorko
SS - Jose Iglesias
3B - Nolan Arenado
OF - Yasiel Puig
OF - A.J. Pollock
OF - Wil Myers
DH - Kole Calhoun
The St. Louis Cardinals led the majors with three players on the BA All-Rookie team, with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves both landing two players.
