The World Series returns to Boston for Game 6 on Wednesday, pitting Cardinals rookie Michael Wacha against Red Sox veteran John Lackey at Fenway for the second time in a week. Wacha held the Sox offense at bay in Game 2, earning a 4-2 win, but will have the added pressure of staving off elimination Wednesday.

Boston has the opportunity Wednesday night to hoist the World Series trophy at home for the first time since 1918.

With the designated hitter back in play, John Farrell has reverted to a more normal lineup configuration for Game 6. David Ortiz is back in the DH spot, allowing Mike Napoli to return to the lineup at first base and bat cleanup.
Shane Victorino, who sat out the last two games with back tightness, is back in right field. The Flyin' Hawaiian typically hits in the two spot, but given his injury and the team's lack of production from his corner -- Red Sox right fielders are 0-for-18 thus far in the series -- he's been bumped down to the six hole.
Despite his continued struggles against same-handed pitching, Jonny Gomes remains in left field against the powerful right-hander Wacha. David Ross, who drove in the winning run in Game 5, gets his fourth straight start behind the plate. Daniel Nava and Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who have two hits combined in the series, ride the bench:

Wacha held the Red Sox to just three hits over six innings last Thursday, and has allowed just 11 hits in 27 innings overall this postseason. No matter what they throw out there, then, it seems the Red Sox will have their work cut out for them in Game 6.
