It hasn’t been Carlos Beltran’s night thus far.
Red Sox turn inning-ending double play
Stephen Drew turned a key 6-3 double play to keep the Cardinals off the board in the third.

In the first inning, Beltran crushed a ball into the shift, but Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia made a sliding grab and threw to first in time to get the out. Two innings later, Beltran had a chance at redemption with Matt Carpenter at first base after a single, but the Cardinals star outfielder hit into a double play instead.
The Red Sox and Cardinals are scoreless heading into the bottom of the third.
