Hanley Ramirez, Andrelton Simmons trade RBI doubles, Dodgers-Braves tied 1-1

A pair of RBI doubles into right field highlighted the first two innings of Game 2 of the NLDS between the Dodgers and Braves at Turner Field.

With a busy day full of four playoff games, the beginning of Game 2 between the Dodgers and Braves temporarily started on TNT instead of TBS. The start looked more like a rerun from Game 1, as the Dodgers grabbed an early lead for a second straight night. But the Braves were able to answer in after two frames Game 2 of the NLDS is tied at 1-1.

After Mark Ellis walked with one out, Hanley Ramirez doubled off Mike Minor into the right field corner to give the Dodgers a quick lead. Ramirez, who also had an RBI double in Thursday's 6-1 win, was the Dodgers' best hitter in 2013, hitting .345/.402/.638 with 20 home runs and 25 doubles, but was limited to just 86 games thanks to injuries to his thumb, hamstring and back during the season.

With the National League West sewn up for the Dodgers by early September most of the final month was used to get Ramirez rest as he dealt with an irritated nerve in his back. Friday marked the first time Ramirez has started on back-to-back days since Sept. 11-12.

Evan Gattis singled to open the second inning for Atlanta, the first hit of the game against Dodgers starter Zack Greinke. Three batters later he scored on a double to right field from Andrelton Simmons.

Greinke struck out two in his opening two innings, and through the first 11 innings of the NLDS Dodgers pitchers have 17 strikeouts.
