Dustin Pedroia can play defense dot GIF

He’s once again ridiculous in the field for the Sox, and it could prove to be a huge play.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is one of those Gold Glove winners who actually deserves the accolade. In case you've forgotten as much, or simply like watching reminders, he turned in a lovely play at the keystone to snuff out a potential Rays rally in the seventh inning of Game 2 of the ALDS:

Pedroia

The ball takes a weird hop right at the end, and Pedroia not only gloves it close to his face, but uses the momentum to spin around and deliver the ball to shortstop Stephen Drew in one fluid motion. He does it all fast enough that Drew can finish off the second play and eliminate Ben Zobrist at first base, ending the inning and keeping Boston’s 6-4 lead alive.

I could keep watching this play all day long, but there’s still non-archived baseball to watch. Once that’s over, though, we can all enjoy the beauty of this GIF again and again.
