Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw could pitch on short rest in Game 4 of the National League Division Series should the team face elimination, reports the Los Angeles Times.
NLDS 2013, Dodgers vs. Braves: Clayton Kershaw a possibility to start in Game 4
Kershaw could take the mound if the Dodgers face elimination at the hands of the Braves.

The Dodgers and Atlanta Braves are tied with a win apiece in the best-of-five series. Game 3 takes place Sunday night. Whichever team wins that game will be on the brink of an appearance in the League Championship Series.
Los Angeles had Kershaw throw a bullpen session Saturday, two days before Game 4 and four days before Game 5. Kershaw usually likes to throw in the bullpen three days before his next start.
Kershaw took the mound in Game 1, tossing seven innings of three-hit ball while striking out 12 Atlanta hitters. He would be pitching on just three days rest if he takes the mound on Monday. It would be the first time Kershaw has ever pitched on short rest in his young career, but told team management he is willing to do so.
If the Dodgers do win on Sunday, Ricky Nolasco will likely get the ball in Game 4.
