Athletics vs. Tigers ALDS Game 3 score update: Detroit, Oakland scoreless through 2
Pitching and defense continues to dominate this series.

Coco Crisp led off the first inning with a double, lining a Anibal Sanchez offering past a diving Torii Hunter. Sanchez recorded two outs before issuing a walk to Brandon Moss, but escaped the inning unscathed by striking out Yoenis Cespedes.
Miguel Cabrera lined a two-out double against Jarrod Parker in the bottom half of the first, but the Oakland starter otherwise pitched an efficient inning, only needing 12 pitches to record three outs.
Oakland had their leadoff hitter on base for a second straight inning; Seth Smith started the second with a leadoff single. Sanchez had no problems with the next three Oakland hitters, working his second scoreless frame.
Parker responded with a perfect inning, notching a flyout and two groundouts to send the game into the third.
