Red Sox vs. Rays: ALDS Game 3 lineups

Matt Joyce gets the start for Tampa Bay and Daniel Nava starts for Boston as the Rays try to avoid elimination at the hands of the Red Sox.

The Tampa Bay Rays are down 2-0 in the ALDS to the Boston Red Sox, but they get to play the next two games at home in Tropicana Field. Alex Cobb squares off against Clay Buckholz in Game 3 on Monday.

The Red Sox will roll with the same lineup that scored 12 runs in Game 1 on Friday, except that Daniel Nava will replace Jonny Gomes in left field against the right-handed Cobb.

Meanwhile, the Rays have shuffled the top of their order in an effort to get some extra offense going. Wil Myers has moved down to the cleanup spot, while Ben Zobrist and Evan Longoria have been shifted higher up. Also, after receiving criticism for starting Delmon Young against a right-handed pitcher, manager Joe Maddon has elected to replace him with left-handed hitter Matt Joyce in the DH spot. Young is 2-for-6 in the ALDS with an RBI, and hit a home run against the Texas Rangers in the Wild Card play-in game. Joyce is 0-for-3 so far with two strikeouts.
