MLB playoffs, Red Sox vs. Rays score update: Boston, Tampa Bay remain in 3-3 tie
The bullpens are doing good work for both teams in Game 3.
After the onslaught of scoring by both teams in the fifth inning, relievers from each were called upon to hold down the opposition. Alex Torres surrendered a hit but struck out a pair of batters in a scoreless sixth for the Rays. Joel Peralta followed with a perfect seventh against the top of Boston's order, which has scored all three of the team's runs.
Clay Buchholz responded well after allowing a three-run home run to Evan Longoria in the fifth inning, working a 1-2-3 sixth before giving way to the relief corps. Craig Breslow recorded the first out of the inning and gave up a single to Ben Zobrist prior to being removed in favor of Junichi Tazawa, who retired Longoria and Wil Myers with Zobrist standing on second base.
