Braves vs. Dodgers score update: Atlanta and Los Angeles tied, 2-2, after 4 innings

Carl Crawford put the Dodgers ahead by a pair of runs early, but shabby defense by L.A. allowed the Braves to climb back into the game.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves are locked in a 2-2 tie after four innings in Game 4 of the National League Division Series on Monday.

Carl Crawford has a pair of home runs, accounting for all of the Dodgers' offense. Crawford took Braves starter Freddy Garcia deep in the Dodgers' first at-bat of the game and repeated the feat with one out in the third. Crawford now has three home runs this postseason and six in his playoff career.

Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw struck out four and allowed two hits in three effective innings before running into some trouble in the fourth. Freddie Freeman began the frame with a single and Evan Gattis reached on an error by Adrian Gonzalez.

After Kershaw uncorked a wild pitch, which allowed the runners to advance into scoring position, he caught Brian McCann looking for the second time in the game. Kershaw wasn't so fortunate against Chris Johnson, whose line drive single into left field plated Freeman. Andrelton Simmons hit a grounder that could have been converted into a double play in the next at-bat, but Gonzalez was unable to corral the throw from Mark Ellis, allowing Gattis to score.

Kershaw has five punch-outs through four frames. Neither of the runs charged to the Dodgers’ ace were earned.
