Baltimore Orioles legend and current postseason analyst for TBS Cal Ripken Jr. said in Rich Eisen's podcast that he has not been asked to interview for a managing job this offseason, reports the Washington Post.

Though Ripken says he is “getting an itch” to get back in the game, he has not been asked by a team to be their manager.

“I have said that at some point I’d like to come back to baseball,” Ripken said. “And most recently, I said that I’m starting to get an itch to do that. But I’d have to look hard at any opportunity, and so far, I haven’t been asked to do anything.”
The Washington Nationals have been rumored to have an interest in Ripken to fill Davey Johnson's shoes following his retirement. Outfielder Jayson Werth said last week that Ripken would be his top choice to manage the team.
Though he claims he has not been approached about a job as manager for a team, Ripken is far from closing the door on the possibility.
“Managing is the closest thing to being a player. And I’ve always thought that, anyway, internally,” said Ripken. “Now I’m starting to think about that a little bit more. So far I’ve got nothing new to report, but that’s been the consistency, that I’ve made those statements. And I am getting a feeling that maybe I’d like to get back in.”
