The Red Sox have competition for Mike Napoli's services. The Rockies are pursuing the free agent first baseman to replace retired star Todd Helton, according to Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post. Renick says Colorado is also interested in former-Rays first baseman James Loney.
MLB News Roundup: Mike Napoli, Braves stadium finances, more crazy Phillies rumors, MVP award bonuses
Mike Napoli and his beard are both drawing interest from the Rockies. Financial details are out on the new Braves Stadium deal. The Rangers are inking their utility man. Oh, and have you heard the latest “rumor” out of Philly?

Braves Stadium
Cobb County released a detailed breakdown of the finances for the proposed Braves Stadium. The deal has the Braves picking up 55 percent of the overall investment and contributing $280 million of the total $678 million investment up front. The county will then contribute $17.9 million annually and the team will contribute $6.1 million per year.
Rosales re-ups in Texas
The Rangers have re-signed utility infielder Adam Rosales to a one year deal to avoid arbitration. The Rangers picked up Rosales on waivers from the Athletics during the 2013 season. He went 4-11 with one home run and four RBI in 17 games for Texas last season, and saw time at all four infield positions. He will earn now $750,000 in 2014, his second arbitration-eligible season.
More Phillies rumors
The crazy, baseless rumors involving the Phillies just will not end. Following Howard Eskin's inaccurate report on talks to swap Domonic Brown for Blue Jays star Jose Bautista, Tampa Bay radio station 620 WDAE sports talk hosts Ron Diaz and Ian Beckles reported a possible Ryan Howard for David Price deal based on a source referred to as "a friend from Philly." As of this writing, no one else has confirmed this scoop.
MVP award bonuses
When Miguel Cabrera won his second straight American League MVP award on Thursday, he earned himself a cool $1 million bonus according to the Associated Press. The National League MVP Andrew McCutchen picked up a bonus of $125,000 with his first award per Cot's Contracts.
