Jennifer Hilderbrand-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Fall League All-Star game is underway, and the AFL West Team leads the AFL East team 2-0 through three innings.

The West team scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the third. Tyler Naquin smoked a one-out triple to left field off Kyle Crick. Byron Buxton followed with a sharp grounder to Kris Bryant, who could not handle the ball and was charged with an error. Naquin scored on the play.

Buxton easily swiped second base during Colin Moran 's at-bat, who ended up drawing a walk against Crick. Jorge Bonifacio followed with an infield single; Addison Russell made a nice diving stop, keeping the ball on the infield and keeping Buxton at third.

Crick forced Corey Seager to hit a weak grounder up the middle, but the West could not turn two, allowing Buxton to score the second run of the game. Austin Hedges ended the inning with a groundout to Russell.

Minnesota Twins pitcher Alex Meyer has tossed three scoreless innings for the West team, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out three. The starter received some help from his catcher Austin Hedges, who caught Brian Goodwin attempted to steal second base for the final out of the first inning.

Stephen Piscotty hit a two-out triple against Meyer in the second inning, and received some aid from left fielder Delino DeShields, who looks ready to join the Houston Astros major-league roster:
