Brett Nicholas and Stefen Romero each hit a pair of homers, helping power the West to a 9-2 win over the East in the Arizona Fall League All-Star game.

Brett Nicholas and Stefen Romero each hit a pair of homers for the West All-Stars.


Nicholas, the Texas Rangers first baseman, smashed his first homer in the bottom of the fourth, crushing a 2-1 offering from Cam Bedrosian over the right-field wall:
His second home run came with the two-outs in the bottom of the seventh against Jeurys Familia.
Romero, the Seattle Mariners outfielder, connected on a two-run bomb against Mike Montgomery in the bottom of the sixth:
And his second homer came against Corey Knebel in the bottom of the eighth, taking a pitch the opposite way for a solo shot.
Garin Cecchini cracked a solo homer later in the frame, driving in the West's ninth run of the game.
Minnesota Twins pitcher Alex Meyer started the game for the West, tossing three shutout innings. Aaron Sanchez countered with two shutout innings for the East, but his fellow East pitchers did not find the same success.
Colin Moran smacked a pair of hits for the West, while Byron Buxton collected a single, walk and stolen base. Stephen Piscotty and Devon Travis each had a triple for the East, with Delino DeShields helping Piscotty with an adventure in left field:
Nicholas earned the Most Valuable Player of the Game award.
