Update: The official deal will see Smith earn $15.75 million over three years, reports Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports.

The Angels have apparently bolstered their bullpen, agreeing to terms with relief pitcher Joe Smith to a three-year contract, per a report by Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. The former Indians right-hander will get "a tick north" of $15 million, according to Heyman.

Smith, who turns 30 in March, was 6-2 with a 2.29 ERA in 70 games for Cleveland in 2013, with 54 strikeouts and 23 walks in 63 innings. He has been consistent the last three seasons with the Indians with three consecutive sub-3.00 ERA years and averaging a 2.42 ERA in 66 innings over 71 games, with 51 strikeouts and 23 walks during that time.

The Angels’ 4.12 ERA in relief in 2013 ranked 13th among 15 teams in the American League.

Smith is one of five pitchers to appear in at least 70 games in each of the last three seasons, along with Joel Peralta, Tyler Clippard, Matt Belisle and John Axford.
