Dodgers rumors: L.A. reportedly open to acquiring another starting pitcher

The Dodgers might not be done looking for pitching, even after signing Dan Haren.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Dodgers, who signed free-agent pitcher Dan Haren on Monday, are open to the idea of adding another arm to their rotation, general manager Ned Colletti told Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times.

The top of the team's rotation, which includes Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw along with Zack Greinke and Hyun-jin Ryu, is one of the best in the National League. However, injury concerns with Josh Beckett and Chad Billingsley, and the departure of midseason acquisition Ricky Nolasco, leave questions at the back end of the staff.

The top available hurler on the free-agent market is still Masahiro Tanaka, and the Dodgers are expected to pursue him, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman. Tanaka cannot sign with a Major League Baseball team until MLB and Nippon Professional Baseball officials agree on a new posting system.
