There has been "no recent movement," between the New York Yankees and Robinson Cano regarding a new contract, reports Dan Martin of the New York Post.

The Yankees have extended Cano a $14.1 million qualifying offer that he will likely reject before 5 p.m. on Monday. He will then be free to re-sign with the Yankees or sign with a new team.

A market for Cano has not yet developed, according to Martin. Cano is reportedly searching for a 10-year, $300 million deal, while New York has offered Cano a seven-year, $165 million extension. Cano told Christian Red of the New York Daily News that no other team has approached him with a contract offer.
The second baseman has been remarkably consistent for the past five seasons, hitting over .300 with at least 25 home runs and 85 RBI each year. Cano also has also remained healthy, appearing in at least 159 games each season since 2007.
New York is working on contingency plans if Cano decides to sign elsewhere; the team has reached out to free agent infielder Omar Infante, and have also inquired about Cincinnati Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips.
