The Cubs have claimed pitcher Liam Hendriks off waivers from the Twins and reached minor league deals with Ryan Kalish, Ryan Roberts and John Baker, according to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish.

The Cubs have added some depth to their organization with a series of small moves.

The 24-year-old Henriks was designated for assignment last week after Minnesota signed pitcher Phil Hughes. The Australian was one of the top prospects in the Twins organization from 2010-2011, but he has struggled in 28 starts in the majors. He posted an ERA of 6.06 in 156 innings during his three seasons with the Twins.
Like Hendriks, 25-year-old outfielder Ryan Kalish previously ranked among the top prospects in his former organization, the Red Sox, where Cubs president Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer drafted him during their time in Boston. Shoulder surgery cost him all of the 2013 season and he missed most of 2012 and 2011 with shoulder and neck injuries. He has hit .243/.293/.351 in 282 plate appearances in the majors.
Ryan Roberts spent the 2013 season with the Tampa Bay Rays, playing in 60 games as a utility infielder. Roberts hit .247/.295/.377 with 5 home runs and 17 RBIs last year.
