Dominican Republic vs. USA final score: Dominican Republic topples United States 3-1
The Dominican Republic handed the United States its second loss of the tournament tonight, beating them 3-1.

After trading runs in the first two innings, the teams were tied at 1. The game would stay there until the Dominicans were able to get two off United States closer Craig Kimbrel. The decisive go-ahead hit was by Dominican pinch-hitter Erick Aybar, and it was a single that scored the team's second run. The game was a duel between 2012 National League Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey, and the Dominican pitching staff led by Sam Deduno.
The United States was unable to come through with runners on tonight, leaving 14 runners on base. The lone US-run was driven in by first baseman Eric Hosmer, but it would prove to be ultimately futile. The headline from this one was the last-minute scratch of David Wright, which surely hurt the United States' morale going into the game. They will now have to beat Puerto Rico to stay alive in the tournament.
