World Baseball Classic 2013 schedule: Monday, March 4

There are three games on the WBC agenda Monday, including a very early morning contest between Cuba and China, and double-header for Australia.

The battle for domination in Pools A & B continues, with contests for Cuba, China, Australia, South Korea, and the Netherlands on Day 3 of the World Baseball Classic.

These early games can be tough to catch since they’re being played across the globe, but they’re definitely worth the sleep deprivation if you can manage it.

Here’s a rundown of today’s games:

China vs. Cuba: Monday, 4:30 p.m. local, 2:30 a.m. ET

Venue: Fukuoka Japan Dome, Fukuoka, Japan

TV: MLB Network (U.S.), ESPN Deportes (U.S.)

You’ll either have had to stay up late or wake up incredibly early to catch this one. Cuba dispatched Brazil in their first match of the tournament and looks to stay undefeated in Pool A, while China searches for their first win after taking an opening game loss to Japan.

Starting Pitchers: LHP Xin Li v. RHP Danny Betancourt

Australia vs. South Korea: Monday, 6:30 p.m. local, 5:30 a.m. ET

Venue: Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, Taichung, Taiwan

TV: MLB Network (U.S.), ESPN Deportes (U.S.)

Another match you’ll have to rise early for. Both Australia and South Korea are looking to rebound following losses in their first matches of the tournament to Chinese Taipei and the Netherlands, respectively. South Korea is hoping to bring their offense to life before meeting up with Pool B powerhouse Chinese Taipei.

Starting Pitchers: RHP Ryan Searle v. RHP Seung Song

Netherlands vs. Australia: Tuesday, 12:30 p.m. local; Monday, 11:30 p.m. ET

Venue: Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, Taichung, Taiwan

TV: MLB Network (U.S.), ESPN Deportes (U.S.)

Depending on how their morning match goes with South Korea, Australia could be in do or die mode against the Netherlands tonight. The Hollanders split their first two matches of Round 1, so a victory over the boys from Down Under will punch their ticket for Round 2.

Starting Pitchers: TBD
