Edwin Encarnacion has a whole lot of power. This power was on display on Tuesday night at the Rogers Centre, against Jon Lester and the Red Sox. Encarnacion's first of two blasts nearly made it to the fifth -- and uppermost -- deck of the stadium, but it hit off of the fencing instead:

It measured out to 427 feet -- thanks a lot, structure in the way -- and came off of the bat at 112 miles per hour according to Hit Tracker. That's impressive, but the Rogers Centre has had its share of blasts over the years. Back when it was the SkyDome, in a different Blue Jays vs. Red Sox contest, Manny Ramirez made Encarnacion's blast look a little less worthy of awe:

That’s the second landing spot, really. It hit slightly further back, bounced straight up, landed, and began to roll down the upper deck tarp. With the grainy picture of yesteryear, though, it’s difficult to see the initial and ever-so-slightly more insane landing spot.
Don’t take this to mean we’re not impressed by Encarnacion’s homer, as it’s pretty ridiculous -- the camera didn’t even tilt high enough to catch it as it hit off the upper deck. Manny’s blast is in Never Forget territory, though, and Encarnacion gives us an excuse to admire that moment once more.
[Important home run update!] NESN’s feed lied a bit about where this landed, as you can see from the Blue Jays’ game feed. Encarnacion’s blast still landed short of Manny Ramirez’s from the looks of it, but it did make it on to that upper deck before coming back down.
