Metallica is from San Francisco. Barry Zito pitches for the San Francisco Giants. Certain members of Metallica play guitar. Barry Zito plays guitar! This is a natural match made in... well, a specific decade doesn't work here, because Metallica was done being consistently awesome* before Zito ever pitched in the majors, but still. Barry Zito jamming with Metallica!

*Real talk, though, I like “Death Magnetic” quite a bit, so long as I remember to skip “The Unforgiven III: The Sequel to a Sequel to a Song That Should Never Have Had a Sequel.

...so, once again, the universe comes full circle.

Most of the jamming is in the last couple of minutes in the video, as the middle is filled with background as to why they’re together here. You know, if you’re into that sort of thing and not just guitars playing “Fade to Black.” I promise, it sounds a whole lot better than that Metallica/Lou Reed project, but I’m also struggling to come up with anything that fails to meet those qualifications.
