The Mets and Yankees kicked off an interleague series on Monday, and in the sixth inning, Mets' second baseman Daniel Murphy nearly put his club ahead with a two-run homer. Brett Gardner, outfielder extraordinaire, kept this from happening:
Brett Gardner robs homer, Daniel Murphy wins anyway
It’s not enough for a win, but it sure is pretty.

It preserved the Yankees' slim lead, but Gardner's powers only extend so far. In the eighth inning, given another chance to give the Mets a lead, Murphy delivered with what would prove to be the game-winning single off of reliever David Robertson.
Still, though, we get this GIF of Murphy being robbed out of it, and also an image that makes it look as if Gardner is hovering and/or frightened of what he’s capable of:
That, or his body is being manipulated by outside forces with power over time and space, which would also explain Vernon Wells' resurgence.
