Camden Yards is one of the more homer-friendly parks out there, but still, when you wake up and see that the Orioles and Nationals combined for eight long balls in one game, surprise is still the first reaction. Chris Davis went deep twice for Baltimore, while Ryan Zimmerman contributed three of his own for the Nats. Nick Markakis, Steve Pearce and Roger Bernadina hit the other three, all of which you can see below*. This is one of those times when you wonder, "Wait, what's the record for homers in a game?" Those of us with short memories can all settle down, though: the record for combined homers in a single game is 12, achieved in 1995 in a game between the White Sox and Tigers, and once again in 2002 in a contest between the South Side and the Cubs. No one in the first game hit more than two, with eight different players going deep, while the Chicago vs. Chicago tilt had nine different players go yard.
The O’s would take the game, 9-6, as Zimmerman’s three blasts only accounted for four RBI on the night, and his teammates contributed little else.
