Jarrod Parker throws a strike, Mark Reynolds destroys it

Jarrod Parker has had trouble throwing quality strikes, including this monster homer to Mark Reynolds.

Jason Miller

Jarrod Parker has been having some serious command issues in 2013. He gave up two homers in the first inning to the Indians on Monday, bounced a pitch to the plate, and then on the next offering, nearly hit Mark Reynolds in the head with a fastball:

It wasn’t intentional, but we saw just a few innings later that Reynolds was possibly still miffed about being hit when he took his sweet time walking out of the batter’s box:

That, or he just wanted to admire a 457-foot blast that is the 15th-longest of 2013, tying Reynolds with, oh look, a Mark Reynolds homer from April 3 against Toronto's Sergio Santos. The lesson? Don't throw Mark Reynolds strikes that live in the actual strike zone, because then they will live in the bleachers.

Bonus gif update: Also, Mark Reynolds will totally make you look owned on extended replays of said homers:
