A man was assaulted at Camden Yards during Wednesday night's game between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees and is currently in intensive care, according to the Baltimore Sun.

A Yankees fan was being heckled at Camden Yards and the incident escalated, leaving him in serious condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center


Matt Fortese had driven to Camden Yards from Hagerstown, Md. to meet his new girlfriend for their second date. Fortese, a Yankees fan, was dealing with heckling from of the home team’s fans all night, which led to an altercation. Fortese wound up with head trauma and a skull fracture, and is currently in serious condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Police arrested two men in the incident, Gregory Fleischman and Michael Bell. Fleischman allegedly delivered the blow that sent Fortese over a railing and onto the concrete five feet below. He is being charged with first- and second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. Bell is facing second-degree assault and disorderly conduct charges. The two were released on $50,000 bond on Friday.
Fortese has been in and out of consciousness, and his family told the Baltimore Sun that he is not out of the woods yet and has a long recovery ahead.
