Rangers 6, Blue Jays 4: Nelson Cruz, Adrian Beltre and David Murphy all hit solo home runs against Toronto, powering Texas to a victory. Josh Johnson allowed three runs over five innings in his second start since returning from the disabled list.

Tigers 4, Indians 1: Don Kelly hit a three-run homer off Justin Masterson in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie. Jose Alvarez, making his major-league debut, only allowed one run in six innings against Cleveland. He received the spot start for Detroit after Anibal Sanchez was scratched with shoulder tightness.

Marlins 8, Mets 4 (10): The Mets and the Marlins went to extra innings for the second straight day, but Miami scored four runs in the tenth to end this game relatively quickly. Miguel Olivo hit a two-run homer in the 10th to blow the game open for the Marlins.

Orioles 10, Rays 7: Adam Jones went 3-for-5 against the Rays, finishing a triple short of the cycle. Matt Moore surrendered nine runs on 12 hits in five innings against the Orioles.

White Sox 4, Athletics 2: Tyler Flowers and Alex Rios hit home runs for the White Sox, providing Hector Santiago with just enough offense to earn the victory. Santiago went 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out six Athletics.

Nationals 7, Twins 0 (Game 1): Jordan Zimmerman tossed a gem against Minnesota, only allowing two hits in seven innings while recording eight strikeouts. Washington hitters battered Scott Diamond for seven runs and ten hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Nationals 5, Twins 4 (Game 2): In the nightcap, Washington picket-fenced Minnesota with single runs in the first, third, fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Nate Karns lasted just three innings in his third major league start, but was buoyed by six Washington relievers.

Brewers 9, Phillies 1: The Brewers offense exploded for nine runs on eight hits, but Ryan Braun left the game in the third inning with thumb soreness. Kyle Loshe tossed eight strong innings to pick up his second victory of the season.

Royals 2, Astros 0: The Royals scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, plating enough runs to complete a three-game sweep of the Astros. Luis Mendoza tossed seven shutout innings to keep Kansas City in the game.

Cubs 4, Pirates 1: Cody Ransom blasted a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, snapping a 1-1 tie. Pirates starter Jeff Locke carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but issued seven walks.

Red Sox 10, Angels 5: Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit two of Boston's four home runs, guiding the Red Sox to an easy victory and a home series win over the Halos. Joe Blanton allowed three of those four Red Sox home runs for the Angels to become the first 10-game loser in MLB. Mike Trout had three hits, including two doubles, for the Angels in defeat.

Giants 4, Diamondbacks 2: Chad Gaudin of all people allowed two runs in six innings, as San Francisco took two of three on the road to pull with 1½ games of Arizona in the NL West.

Rockies 8, Padres 7 (10): The four-game weekend series ended in a split as Dexter Fowler capped his four-hit day with a walk-off single in the 10th inning to beat San Diego. This came after a furious three-run rally by the Rockies to tie the game in the ninth, highlighted by a Carlos Gonzalez two-run double.

Yankees 2, Mariners 1: The King, Felix Hernandez, was stellar in seven innings, allowing just one run while striking out seven, but David Phelps pitched six frames of one-run ball himself to keep pace. Chris Stewart's single scored Ichiro Suzuki in the ninth inning for the winning run in Seattle.

Braves 8, Dodgers 1: Atlanta captured a four-game series split in Los Angeles thanks to a pair of home runs by Dan Uggla, giving him three in two days. Mike Minor pitched six strong innings for his eighth win of the season for the Braves, while Yasiel Puig picked up his fifth multi-hit game in his seven-game major league career for the Dodgers in defeat.

Cardinals 11, Reds 4 (10): St. Louis exploded for seven runs in the 10th inning, highlighted by a Matt Holliday grand slam, to win in Cincinnati in a matchup of two of the National League's top teams. Matt Carpenter and Carlos Beltran combined to drive in five runs for the Cardinals, owners of the best record in baseball (41-22).
