The Miami Marlins activated outfielder Giancarlo Stanton off the disabled list Monday, placing Casey Kotchman on the 15-day DL in a corresponding move, Danny Knobler of CBS Sports is reporting.
Marlins activate Giancarlo Stanton
Stanton will return to the Marlins lineup after missing over a month’s worth of playing time with a hamstring strain.

Stanton has not played since injuring his hamstring running out a groundball on April 29 against the New York Mets. An MRI revealed a grade-two hamstring strain, which prompted the Marlins to place the slugger on the disabled list.
The outfielder started the season slow for the Marlins, hitting .227/.341/.387 in 88 plate appearances. Rookie outfielder Marcell Ozuna has played right field in Stanton's absence and filled in admirably, hitting .331/.371/.472 in 152 plate appearances. Marlins manager Mike Redmond told Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post that Ozuna will likely play centerfield when Stanton returns to the lineup.
Miami activated Logan Morrison off the disabled list on Sunday, placing Chris Coghlan on the 15-day DL. Morrison is expected to play 1B with Kotchman on the disabled list, while Justin Ruggiano and Juan Pierre will likely split time in left.
