The San Francisco Giants placed third baseman Pablo Sandoval on the disabled list Tuesday with a strained left foot.
Pablo Sandoval injury: Giants place third baseman on disabled list
The Giants will have to find a suitable replacement for third baseman Pablo Sandoval, as he will miss some time with a foot injury.

Nick Noonan was recalled from Triple-A Fresno. He hit .203 in 59 at-bats earlier in the season for San Francisco before being demoted on Saturday.
Sandoval will have to wear a boot for a week or so, and then he will be reevaluated. He will be eligible to come off the disabled list on June 25.
The Giants are currently second in a hard-fought National League West division, as they only trail the Diamondbacks. The Rockies are just a few games behind them, and clipping at their heels.
Giants trainer Dave Groeschner refuted reports that the injury was a hairline fracture, saying that the injury is an old one that just showed up on the x-ray.
Sandoval, 26, was batting .286 with eight home runs this season until sustaining his injury.
