San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow, who suffered brain damage after being beaten at Dodger Stadium, has returned home after spending the past two years in hospitals and rehabilitation centers, the Associated Press is reporting.

Stow’s family is happy to see Stow move back in, but admitted that he could benefit from more time at a rehabilitation facility.

His family stated on their website that Stow will now live with them in the Santa Cruz area after spending about a year at the Centre for Neuroskills in Bakersfield, Calif. Stow’s family stated that the former paramedic could have used more time at the facility, but their insurance will no longer cover it.
“Bryan requires 24-hour nursing care, but this is not covered by insurance. So we had to hire caregivers in order to help Bryan to get up and showered in the morning, and get dressed and in bed in the evening.”
Stow’s parents and home nurses will provide the 24-hour care that he needs, but they admit they are unable to provide the same level of care that the Centre did.
“We do what we can at home, but he needs the five days a week that he grew accustomed to. We just don’t know how to get that for him.”
Stow’s family did say that Stow appears to be doing better, but still suffers from memory problems, pain and stiffness.
Stow's accused attackers, Marvin Norwood and Louie Sanchez, will stand trial for the charges of mayhem, assault and battery, although a trial date has not been set. A civil suit against the Dodgers organization is also pending.
