Boston Red Sox first baseman Mike Napoli, who left Thursday's game after he was struck in the face by a ground ball that bounced up, was sent back to Boston on Saturday to be examined by the team's medical staff as he continues to suffer from nausea and dizziness.
Mike Napoli injury: Red Sox 1B suffering from dizziness, sent back to Boston
Napoli has been out since Thursday after a ground ball bounced up and hit him in the face.

Despite the symptoms, Red Sox manager John Farrell told Comcast SportsNet New England that the team isn’t concerned that Napoli is suffering from a concussion:
“Because of what he’s experiencing,” said Farrell, “and all the conversations that have gone on with our own doctors, including Dr. Collins, there’s a pretty high level of confidence that he’s not dealing with anything concussion-related.”
Instead Farrell believes that Napoli may be suffering from a virus that recently went through the team’s clubhouse. In his first season with the Red Sox, Napoli has recorded a .262 batting average with 49 runs batted in.
On Saturday, Mike Carp started in the place of Napoli for a second consecutive game with Daniel Nava and Will Middlebrooks as potential replacements as well if Napoli is unprepared to return.
