The Marlins have had trouble scoring in 2013, and a large part of that has been the absence of Giancarlo Stanton. That's not the only reason why, of course, as we were reminded of on Monday, when the Marlins couldn't score against Diamondbacks' starter Patrick Corbin. At least, they couldn't until Stanton hit career home run number 99 to tie the game at two in the sixth:

Stanton would come up again in the ninth inning, without the Marlins having scored any runs since his two-run blast to left earlier in the game. It was still 2-2, with Diamondbacks' closer Heath Bell on the mound to keep things tied in a home game and give the D'backs one last chance to score before extras. It wasn't to be, though, as Stanton would go deep for career homer 100 to put the Marlins ahead:
Three Marlins hits, two of them Stanton homers. We should probably get used to this, though, it’ll be easier for us neutral parties/Giancarlo aficionados than for Marlins fans.
