Ronald Belisario makes two errors on one play vs. Yankees

Don’t let this man field anymore, unless the Dodgers’ intent is GIFable content. Then just keep doing what you’re doing, Dodgers.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Yankees are playing the Dodgers in New York, and were holding a slim lead to start the seventh inning. Dodgers reliever Ronald Belisario helped change all that quickly, though, by making not one, but two errors on a single play:

The batter, Vernon Wells, would (obviously) reach on the play, when Belisario first dropped the infield pop-up. Jayson Nix would score, and Robinson Cano advanced to third on the completely unnecessary throw into center field. It's not shown in the GIF, but you'll just have to trust me when I tell you that Belisario then hit the next batter, Thomas Neal, with a pitch.

Coincidentally, the only other Belisario-related post I’ve authored this year also involves him doing silly things while fielding. Maybe you remember this little gem from late-May, what we deemed to be baseball’s version of the no-look pass:

Maybe next time don’t let him anywhere near the ball. It honestly would have gone better if he just let it drop and gave Wells the single -- at least the runners wouldn’t have advanced.
