Manny Ramirez's tenure with the EDA Rhinos in Taiwan has come to an end after just three months, but don't look for the 41-year-old to throw in the towel anytime soon. The veteran slugger has his sights set on a return to Major League Baseball, his agent told Jon Morosi of FOX Sports.

Manny hasn’t played in the big leagues since 2011, so his chances of making it back to the show are probably pretty slim. Stranger things have happened, however. Ramirez hit an impressive .352/.422/.555 with eight home runs in 49 games in Taiwan, but the level of competition there pales in comparison to MLB.
Contract Do-Overs: AL West
If teams could magically jettison one contract on the roster, which one would it be? His last stint with a stateside pro organization was a minor-league deal with the Oakland Athletics in February 2012. Ramirez spent all his time with the club's Triple-A organization as he served out the remainder of his 100-game PED suspension, but hit just .302/.348/.349 in 17 games and was released in June without getting a shot with the big-league club.
It’s also been rumored that Manny could end up playing with the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan, which seems to be a much more likely scenario for the veteran. (Ramirez reportedly left Taiwan because of homesickness, however, so perhaps not.) If nothing else, a move to Nippon Professional Baseball would guarantee him a higher salary straight away than another minor-league deal with an MLB team.
