The Philadelphia Phillies placed reliever Mike Adams on the disabled list with biceps tendinitis, according to the team's official Twitter page.
Mike Adams injury: Phillies RHP placed on DL with biceps tendinitis
Adams had been on the disabled list earlier in the season with a back injury and began experiencing tenderness in his biceps when he returned.

This is Adams’ second stint on the DL this season. He suffered a back injury in May that caused him to miss a couple of weeks. Adams returned without going on a minor league rehab assignment and began suffering from tenderness in his right biceps.
Adams, 34, has a 3.96 ERA in 28 games for the Phillies this season. Philadelphia signed him this offseason to a two-year, $12 million contract with a team option worth $6 million for 2015.
The Phillies purchased the contract of pitcher J.C. Ramirez from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take Adams' roster spot. Infielder Michael Martinez was designated for assignment to create room on the 40-man roster for Ramirez.
Ramirez has a 5.30 ERA over 27 relief appearances split between Double-A and Triple-A this season.
