Derek Jeter returned to Yankee Stadium on Saturday to take some batting practice and field some ground balls with his teammates as he continues to rehab his left ankle. Still not expected to return before the All-Star break in mid-July, Jeter told MLB.com the rehab process "has been going as good as it can go" since he suffered the injury in the 2012 postseason. He added that he's able to do exercises without putting weight on his ankle, which has helped him keep leg strength.

The 13-time All-Star took batting practice with his teammates prior to their Saturday game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Jeter broke his ankle during the postseason and had surgery to repair the injury, but suffered a setback when he sustained another fracture during the rehab process. Since then, he has had no issues. Jeter will return to Tampa, Fla., on Sunday, where he has been working out at a Yankees minor-league complex.
The 13-time All Star shortstop has been replaced in the lineup by Jayson Nix and Eduardo Nunez, as the Yankees have started the season with a 41-33 record.
