2013 All-Star Game voting: Nick Markakis, Jose Bautista, Torii Hunter in 3-way battle for final AL OF spot

Four Baltimore Orioles currently hold starting positions for the All-Star game.

USA TODAY Sports

Major League Baseball released its fourth update of American League All-Star voting on Saturday, and the battle for the final outfield starting position is heating up. Baltimore Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis currently holds a slim lead with 1,915,860 votes, but Toronto Blue Jays three-time All-Star Jose Bautista (1,867,367) and Detroit Tigers four-time All-Star Torii Hunter (1,851,657) sit close behind.

Markakis is one of four Orioles position players to currently hold a starting position thanks to the fan vote, as first baseman Chris Davis (3,960,299), shortstop J.J. Hardy (2,548,682) and outfielder Adam Jones (3,571,693) all lead their respective positions. Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera (4,337,223) still leads overall.

Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer (2,788,972) and New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano (3,032,183) round out the AL infield leaders. Boston Red Sox eight-time All-Star David Ortiz (3,247,462) leads all designated hitters, while Mike Trout (3,548,195) has received the second most votes in the outfield.
