Adrian Beltre makes game-ending catch, Ian Kinsler rejects celebratory hug

Adrian Beltre made a fine play to end the game, but Ian Kinsler doesn’t want to celebrate with hugging.

Only high fives for Ian, please.

Adrian Beltre is an awesome defensive third baseman. He reminded us all of this -- well, those of us who were still awake for a game that didn't begin until 11 pm eastern, anyway -- with a jumping catch that started a game-ending double play, securing the Rangers' 2-1 win and a series sweep over the Cardinals:

That's when things get a little weird with Ian Kinsler and Elvis Andrus. Beltre and Kinsler exchange a pretty ho-hum hand slap after completing the double play, but Andrus, he gets into whatever this is:

Kinsler and Andrus are caught somewhere in between a complicated high five routine, some kind of sports bro hug, and possibly a celebratory dance.

Does Kinsler have trouble hugging? Is that what the awkwardness is? He seems somewhat surprised and taken aback by Andrus’ show of celebratory affection, and even pushes Andrus away after the embrace. Let bro-love into your life, Ian. Do it for Elvis. If not after a sweep of the NL’s best, then when?
