The San Francisco Giants will activate Pablo Sandoval off the disabled list on Monday, Giants manager Bruce Bochy told Andrew Owens of MLB.com.

Sandoval has been out since June 8 with a strained tendon in his left foot. The infielder just completed a two-game rehab assignment, where he collected four hits, including two home runs.

The third baseman swung the bat well before heading to the DL, hitting .289/.326/.427 in 242 plate appearances. Sandoval is third on the team with 37 RBI, and tied with Buster Posey for second with eight home runs.
San Francisco has lost six out of their past nine games, and hope that Sandoval can provide a spark to the lineup. Bochy talked with Owens about the impact Sandoval could have on the club.
“It certainly should do something for the club. We need a lift right now. He’s a big presence in the lineup and hopefully it will keep guys from trying to do too much.”
The Giants cleared space for Sandoval by optioning Nick Noonan to Triple-A Fresno. Noonan hit .212/.256/.235 in 90 plate appearances this season.
