Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Jon Lester left his start against the Toronto Blue Jays after jamming his right hip, per Michael Periatt of MLB.com.
Jon Lester injury: LHP leaves start after jamming hip
The southpaw exited his start early on Thursday, but the injury does not appear to be serious.

The southpaw slipped off the mound in the eighth inning while delivering a pitch to Emilio Bonifacio. Lester limped off the field, and told Periatt that he felt a "zinging sensation," in his right leg. The injury does not appear to be serious, as Lester told Nick Carfado of the Boston Globe:
“I feel fine now. Walking off the field, it kind of stayed with me a little bit. After the doctor looked at it, I started to feel normal. Hopefully that will carry over tomorrow and I won’t have to worry about it.”
The starter entered his start on Thursday with an 8.44 ERA in the month of June, but gave the Red Sox seven solid innings last night, allowing four runs on five hits. Lester is now 8-4 on the season with a 4.61 ERA over 17 starts.
Boston recently shut down Clay Buchholz after an MRI revealed that the starter had inflammation in his bursa sac area. The Red Sox are 48-33 on the season and sit in first place in the AL East, and do not want to see another pitcher miss time with an injury.
