St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina was suspended for one game by Major League Baseball on Monday for making contact with an umpire, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

The incident occurred on Sunday when Molina was ejected from the game for spiking his helmet after being called out on a close play at first base. Following the ejection, Molina agued with first base umpire Clint Fagan and made contact with Fagan before being restrained by manager Mike Matheny.
Crew chief Tim Welke called the contact incidental, according to Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, but Molina was still suspended. After the game, Molina said he spiked his helmet in frustration with himself and not the call by the umpire.
“For me in my opinion I didn’t do anything, I was upset with myself,” Molina said after the game, via the Post-Dispatch. “I was upset with the play. I didn’t do anything to him or his call, I was upset to myself.”
Molina appealed his suspension and is in the lineup for Monday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. In addition to the one-game suspension, Molina was also fined an undisclosed amount by MLB.
