Nady was released from his contract with the Kansas City Royals just hours prior to signing with Colorado.

Nady was released by the Kansas City Royals just hours prior to signing with the Rockies. He had been playing for the Royals' Triple-A affiliate where he was hitting .310/.382/.486 with 11 home runs through 70 games.
According to FoxSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal, one scout who saw Nady recently was quoted as saying the ten-year veteran “swung as well as I have seen him in a while.”
