Over one month after breaking the fifth metacarpal in his left hand on May 25, New York Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson has still not swung a bat, reports the Star-Ledger's Andy McCullough.

Granderson, 32, has been able to play catch and do some defensive work. However, the fact that Granderson has not been able to hit yet is beginning to put doubt in the Yankees minds that he will return within the expected 60 days. Manager Joe Girardi did allow the possibility that the outfielder’s recovery could be delayed.
Doctors removed a pin from Granderson’s hand last week. The veteran said that his bone was fully healed, but the tendons and ligaments are not yet at full strength.
This is the second extended injury Granderson has suffered during the 2012 season. He missed the first month and a half of the year with a broken forearm after being hit by a pitch in his first spring training game.
The injuries have kept Granderson from playing in all but eight games in 2012. Over that span he collected seven hits in 28 at-bats.
