Rounding the Bases: Scores and highlights from Tuesday’s games

All the scores and highlights from Tuesday’s games.

Stephen Dunn

Tuesday’s slate of games featured an absurd number of walkoffs, with four in all.

Yankees 4, Indians 3: Mike Aviles and Terry Francona were thrown out of this one somehow AFTER it ended. Mark Teixeira hit his second home run of the season as well.

Phillies 7, Marlins 3: Following the theme of walkoffs, John Mayberry Jr. hit a walkoff grand slam in this one. The last three runs were totally unnecessary, yet so cool.

Nationals 3, Mets 2: A walkoff sacrifice-fly from Steve Lombardozzi won this one for the Nationals, who were able to climb back to .500.

Tigers 10, Rays 1: Matt Moore struggled in this one, and the Tigers lineup reminded everyone that they are the Tigers' lineup.

Rockies 5, Reds 4: A two-run go-ahead home run in the eighth inning from Troy Tulowitzki would give the Rockies the win in this one, as they continue to be not-all-that-bad.

Braves 5, Pirates 4: A walkoff double was the walkoff in this one, as the Braves would win on the extra-base hit by Andrelton Simmons. B.J. Upton also homered in this one.

Red Sox 17, Rangers 5: No walkoffs to be seen here. Although David Murphy did pitch in this one, throwing Texas' only scoreless frame of the evening.

Orioles 4, Astros 1: Brandon Barnes made a nice play, and he is actually pretty fun to watch. The feisty Orioles continue to win and be feisty in the AL East.

Twins 3, Royals 0: Royals gon' Royal. They struck out eight times against the Twins. Poor guys.

Brewers 4, Athletics 3: Despite the cloud of the Ryan Braun involvement in the Biogenesis scandal, the Brewers were able to win this one. A walkoff double from Yuniesky Betancourt scored Carlos Gomez to win this game in the 10th.

Dodgers 9, Padres 7: Yasiel Puig hit two home runs in this game. I really don't think you care about anything else from this one.

Giants 2, Blue Jays 1: The Giants won this game in five innings. Complete game for Tim Lincecum! You have to take them where you can get em', Big Time Timmy Jim.

Diamondbacks 7, Cardinals 6: Michael Wacha struggled in this one, and the Diamondbacks outlasted the Cardinals in 14 innings. Matt Carpenter was hit by three pitches in this one, so look for retaliation tomorrow.

Mariners 7, White Sox 4: Felix Hernandez allowed four runs in this one over seven innings, but that was enough, as the Mariners won handily. Raul Ibanez hit his 11th home run of the season.

Angels 4, Cubs 3: Albert Pujols hit a two-run home run in this one, and the Angels were able to return to normalcy.
