2013 MLB Draft results: Pick Nos. 69-73

The first night of the MLB Draft concluded with two prep players and three college players.

Mike Stobe

No. 69: Jordan Paroubeck, San Diego Padres

Jonathan Mayo, MLB.com:

Paroubeck, an outfielder, has impressed this spring with a loose, easy swing from both sides of the plate. He generates good power already and should add more as he physically matures. He covers ground well in the outfield and has a strong, accurate arm.

No. 70: Alex Balog, Colorado Rockies

With his 6'6 frame, Balog could become a mid-rotation innings-eater, but has a small chance to become even more. He throws a mid-90s fastball along with a slider, curveball and changeup, and can potentially bring four usable offerings to a big-league rotation. That assumes he can refine his secondary offerings, though, especially the changeup. Baseball America notes that Balog is "a good athlete who also played four years of water polo in high school in San Jose."

No. 71: Chad Pinder, Oakland Athletics

Keith Law, ESPN:

His bat speed is a tick better than average, but it's more of a strength swing than anything else. He turns his front knee in for his trigger, so he's late transferring his weight and his front side can go soft as he follows through. He should stay at third base with the hands and arm to make up for any lack of range at the position.

No. 72: Tucker Neuhaus, Milwaukee Brewers

Baseball America:

"Some scouts believe he can handle shortstop, while others see him as a profile third baseman, where he should be an excellent defender... He also offers lefthanded power."

No. 73: Colby Suggs, Miami Marlins

Jonathan Mayo, MLB.com:

"Suggs is all power, with a sinking fastball that sits mid-90s and can touch more than that."
